Drain pipes are one of the core components of the water circulation system in 
various household appliances, widely used in washing machines, dishwashers, air conditioners, water purifiers, and other equipment. The welding quality directly affects the air-tightness performance and service life of the product. Drain pipes are often exposed to vibration and humid environments over long periods, which imposes extremely high requirements on the strength and air-tightness of the welded joint.
Considering above condition, MP Sonic designed spin equipment specially for drain pipe welding.
I. Material: Normally PP, PE, PVC, TPE
II. Requirment: A. Air-tightness of welding; B. Neat surface after welding at joining area.
III. Challenge:
A. The uneven cut formation of the pipe results in incomplete contact of the weld interface and uneven force distribution during the welding process, which affects welding result which is difficult to guarantee air-tightness and welding strength
B. Machine is too soft to clamp under pressure, resulting in deformation, displacement, or even damage of the work-piece during welding. Therefore, the fixture must be designed to keep the shape stability of the drain pipe throughout the welding process.
Traditional ultrasonic welding struggles to achieve welding continuity. Without continuity, it’s difficult to ensure the drain pipe is leak-proof. Moreover, ultrasonic welding leaves a rough and unattractive weld seam which results in ugly mark at welding area.
